Board of Trustee Minutes 02/24/2014

A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Delhi was held on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Village Hall Boardroom.

Present:           Mayor             Richard Maxey

Trustees          Gregory Krzyston, Jeremy Fitch, Dan Ayres, Chris Maney

The meeting started with the Pledge of Allegiance at 6:30 p.m.

*all unanimous votes are unanimous WITHOUT the Mayor voting, unless otherwise noted.

Privilege of the floor – no one was present with questions.

Motion was made by Trustee Krzyston to accept the minutes of the regular meeting of January 27, 2014, and budget workshops of January 22 and February 10, 2014 (with correction from Police Officer Brian Davis  to Police Office Matt Davis regarding the K9 presentation).  Motion was seconded by Trustee Maney and passed unanimously.

Motion was made by Trustee Fitch to approve the Abstract dated February 24, 2014 in the amount of $148,688.03.  Motion was seconded by Trustee Maney and passed unanimously.

Motion was made by Trustee Fitch for the additional vouchers of $4,459 out of the general fund and $537.32 out of the Sewer fund.  Motion was seconded by Trustee Ayres and passed unanimously.

Motion was made by Trustee Krzyston to accept the following reports:  Police Report for January 2014, HUD Report for December 2013 and January 2014, Bingo Inspection report for January 29, 2014, Code Enforcement Officer’s Report for 1/23/14 – 2/14/14, Treasurer’s Report for January 2014 and DPW Superintendent’s Report dated February 11, 2014.  Motion was seconded by Trustee Maney and passed unanimously.

Motion was made by Trustee Maney granting approval of a St. Patrick’s Day Parade to be held in the village, sponsored by The Greater Area Chamber of Commerce and Delaware County Department of Economic Development, on March 22, 2014.  Motion was seconded by Trustee Ayres and passed unanimously.

Motion was made by Trustee Maney to authorize the purchase of a laptop for the Treasurer for use in the board room, based on the ISD quote of $948.99.  Motion was seconded by Trustee Fitch and passed unanimously.

Discussion was had by the Board regarding dates for the fireworks.  After a bit of discussion the Board felt it would be nice to do the fireworks on July 4.  Chris Maney will look into availability with the fireworks company.

Motion was made by Trustee Fitch to approve the fireworks without a specific date at this point.  Motion was seconded by Trustee Maney and passed unanimously.

Motion was made by Trustee Maney to schedule a public hearing on the fraternity law on March 10, 2014 at 7:00 PM.  Motion was seconded by Trustee Krzyston and passed unanimously.

Discussion was had by Board members regarding the Youth Program Proposal given by Jenn Green.  There were questions by Board members and it was felt that it would be helpful to have Jenn Green present at the March 17, 2014 meeting at 6:45 or 7:00 PM, based on scheduling.

Mayor Maxey wanted to thank Bob Ennist for his 16 years of service to the Village of Delhi.

Trustee Ayres indicated that it would be nice to have a plan to go with their budget from all of the Department supervisors for the March 10, 2014 meeting.  This plan should be a simple plan – maybe a 1 page outline.

Motion was made by Trustee Maney to adjourn.  Motion was seconded by Trustee Krzyston and passed unanimously.
